Prof. Dr. Selva Demiralp 2024 Speech Titles
Prof. Dr. Selva Demiralp is a faculty member in the Department of Economics at Koç University and serves as the Chairman of the Economic Research Chair at Yapı Kredi Bank. She is also a founding partner of Ethos Economics and Consulting. She earned her bachelor's degree from Boğaziçi University and completed her Ph.D. at the University of California, Davis.
After working as an economist at the Federal Reserve Board in the United States from 2000 to 2005, Prof. Dr. Demiralp joined the Department of Economics at Koç University in 2005. Since 2016, she has been the director of the Koç University-TÜSİAD Economic Research Forum.
Over the past decade, Dr. Demiralp has collaborated with several central banks, including the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank (ECB), and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (TCMB). She has also worked as a consultant for the ECB.
Dr. Demiralp's insights on the Turkish economy have been featured in various national and international media outlets, including The New York Times, The Financial Times, The Wall Street Journal, Reuters, and The Economist. She currently contributes as an economics columnist for BBC Turkish.
