Speaker Profile
Ali Cinar is currently the US Representative of Ciner Media Group, one of Turkey's largest media companies (Habertürk TV, Bloomberg HT, Show TV). He works at Bloomberg LP headquarters in Washington, DC, hosting official representatives and guests from the American business community for Bloomberg HT. He is also pursuing a doctoral degree in Communication at Liberty University, based in Virginia, focusing his research on misinformation and information pollution. Additionally, for the past four years, he has been teaching online courses as a faculty member to master's degree students at Istanbul Aydın University.
Between 2002 and 2008, Çınar served as the Marketing Manager at Concord Industries, and later from 2008 to 2012, he worked as the Marketing Manager responsible for European and Middle Eastern operations for Western Union, a Fortune 500 company. During his four years at Western Union, he received six awards for his accomplishments. Following his successful career at Western Union, Cinar worked as the Marketing/Product Manager at Transfast (currently known as Mastercard), a Wall Street company, from 2012 to 2014.
In addition to his professional responsibilities and educational achievements, Cinar has contributed to US-Turkey relations by serving in prominent organizations in the United States. He held the position of Vice President of the Turkish-American Associations Assembly in Washington, DC from 2010 to 2012, President of the Turkish-American Associations Federation in New York from 2012 to 2014 and Deputy Chairman of the Ethnic Coordination Council of the Democratic Party from 2014 to 2016. Cinar has been invited as a speaker to programs organized by institutions such as the United States Military Academy, the US Congressional Foreign Affairs Committee, Columbia University, the United Nations, and the National Press Club.
Ali Cinar holds accredited press credentials from the United Nations, the US Department of State, the Pentagon, and the White House. He is a member of the White House Correspondents' Association, the UN Correspondents Association, and the American Press Association.
In the past 15 years, Ali Cinar has received over 40 awards from both Turkish and American institutions. Among the awards he has received, he has been honored by seven US Presidents and in 2019, he became the youngest Turkish American to receive the Ellis Island Medal of Honor, an award given for over 40 years.
